Siarhiej Ždanovič. From the series “The Space Sought-for and Found”

The exhibition is the result of a plein air, which took place in June at the art village Kaptaruny where Siarhiej Ždanovič, Siarhiej Kažamiakin, Andrei Liankevič, Volha Prusak, Volha Sazykina and Ihar Saŭčanka took part. For a few days the artists were living in Kaptaruny: they took photos, met local residents, made notes and shared their professional experience. The place was one but the perspectives, the focus, the media turned out to vary.

What do we see when we get to a place? What attracts our attention and what would we like to keep in memory?

The exhibition “A Place” is primarily intended for the locals, who are invited to have the Other’s look at their daily surroundings and maybe notice something new and unexpected. In addition, it is an opportunity for everyone to see different perspectives that can co-exist in one and the same place.

Participants: Siarhiej Ždanovič, Siarhiej Kažamiakin, Andrei Liankevič, Volha Prusak, Volha Sazykina and Ihar Saŭčanka.
Curators: Tania Arcimovič and Artur Klinaŭ.

The plein air was organized by the Pastavy District Association “Ekaagratur” and agro-estate “Art Village Kaptaruny”.
