André Perlstein. “The Cinema of the 1970s and Beyond”, 24.09-08.10

From September, 24 to October, 8 2018 within the framework of “The Month of Photography in Minsk” in the exhibition space Falcon Club Boutique Cinema (Pobediteley Avenue, 20) Minsk residents and guests visiting the capital will be granted a unique opportunity to see André Perlstein’s works, getting acquainted with his interesting and varied career. As an independent photographer, he made his first steps while shooting news for the magazine «Le Point». But Perlstein also left a mark on the fashion world, immortalizing Yves Saint Laurent’s defile.

The exhibition presents only black-and-white photographs that illustrate just a brief episode in André Perlstein’s career. The photographs show the gallery of characters, places and situations, making the visitors feel they belong to the mysterious world of fashion and cinema – otherwise hidden… After all, it was working with the director Jean-Pierre Melville which made him famous. Alain Delon, Jean-Pierre Melville, Isabelle Adjani, Charlie Chaplin, and Miles Davis. Film shootings, great actors, actresses and directors … – everything is brought back to life and frozen in time by his attentive look behind the scenes.

At the exhibition the photographer’s work in the field of high fashion is presented through the images with Yves Saint Laurent made at his fashion shows and backstage.

An honored guest at the opening on September, 24 is André Perlstein in person.

Admission free.
