STANLEY GREENE. “Black Passport”, 06.09–06.10

Stanley Greene was one of the few African-American photographers working worldwide,  known for his brutally honest photographs of conflicts. His images made in Chechnya, Georgia, Afghanistan and Iraq were often considered to be too raw for appearing in press. Starting to shoot in music and fashion, he got later recognized as one of the leading international war photographers, becoming a founding member of the photographer-owned agency Noor Images.

“Black Passport” was his most renowned project, practually it can be described as his autobiography where the images war alternated with the private ones, the safe western life – with the horrors of wars elsewhere.
